Happy Labor Day to our entire CCSD community! 🛠️

Carlisle CSD relies on a voted Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL) and one-cent state sales tax revenue to address a variety of infrastructure and equipment needs. This list includes:

☑️ Modernizing & furnishing classrooms
☑️ Building & grounds maintenance
☑️ Upgrading safety & security
☑️ Repairing and replacing roofs
☑️ Upgrading HVAC, plumbing & electrical systems
☑️ Purchasing musical instruments
☑️ Improving athletic facilities

On Tuesday, September 9, district residents will consider renewing the voted PPEL for an additional 10 years. This will allow us to continue making investments in our schools and providing students with more resources, all while maintaining the existing levy rate.

Also on the ballot is the proposed adoption of a Revenue Purpose Statement (RPS). This would provide the flexibility to use our annual disbursement of statewide sales tax revenue in a manner most effective for our district.

A renewed PPEL WILL NOT increase property tax rates, and an adopted RPS WILL NOT raise tax rates or create a new tax.

In-person absentee voting ahead of the September 9 election is now available at your county auditor’s office, weekdays during normal business hours! This voting option will remain available through September 8.

The wait is almost over! 📚🎉

K-12 students will begin the school year on Monday, August 25, with a 1:30pm dismissal. Our prekindergarten students will join the fun on Tuesday, September 2.

On Tuesday, September 9, residents of the Carlisle Community School District will consider renewing our voted Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL) and adopting a Revenue Purpose Statement (RPS). 🗳️

More than 85% of Iowa school districts rely on a voted PPEL for financial support. This levy generates funds that can only be used for infrastructure and equipment repairs, purchases, and improvements. It must be renewed every 10 years to remain in place.

An RPS guides how school districts can spend revenue from the statewide one-cent sales tax fund, known as SAVE. Approval of these items WILL NOT increase local property taxes and WILL NOT create a new tax.

Families are invited to join us TONIGHT for Instrument Rental Night, where students can get set up for a great year in music. Our staff will be on hand to answer questions and guide you through the process. 🎶

The event will be held from 7:15 to 8:30pm in the Middle School Gym.

Calling all incoming kindergarten families! 🎒

Join us on Tuesday, August 12, from 6:00 to 7:30pm in the Carlisle Elementary Cafeteria for our Kindergarten Round-Up Parent Meeting. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the upcoming school year and how to help your child start strong! 🌟

Carlisle Middle School is looking even better thanks to our amazing staff and student volunteers who joined us for Cat Campus Clean Up Day. Together, we worked hard to improve the activities entrance, and the results speak for themselves! 🐾

The 2nd Annual Cat Campus Clean-up Day is this Friday, August 8! 🐾

We need your help and support! Last summer, volunteers helped give the west side of the elementary school a fresh new look. This year, we're focusing our energy on the activities entrance at Carlisle Middle School!
