Cat Skills

CAT Skills is a reporting tool to monitor student work completion and behavior in the classroom. Students will receive a mark in Infinite Campus in the CAT Skills section every four weeks to indicate their level of performance (Leader, Participant, Detractor).

Leader Level: Demonstrates personal commitment and mastery, and encourages others through work and deed.  

  • Formative Assessment work is completed on time and reflects high standards

  • Chooses respectful and  appropriate conduct in the classroom including personal responsibility and self-direction

  • Follows all classroom rules and procedures while encouraging the development of these qualities in others

  • Technology is not visible during learning unless the student asks permission for appropriate use

Participant Level:  Carries out responsibilities in an adequate way but does not take a leadership role.

  • Formative Assessment work is completed on time and meets all requirements 

  • Arrives on time with materials

  • Meets class goals through personal contributions

  • Chooses respectful and appropriate conduct in the classroom

  • Follows all classroom rules and procedures

  • Technology is not visible during learning unless directed by the teacher

Detractor Level: Does not meet the standards personally, and detracts from others meeting the standards. 

  • Even with teacher prompt or reminder, the student does not hand in formative work on time or meet the requirements

  • Even with teacher prompts or reminders:

  • participation does not meet classroom expectations

  • conduct does not follow classroom rules and procedures

  • student disengages from learning to focus on inappropriate technology use

Objective: The objective of Carlisle High School’s CAT Skills is to increase student performance in the classroom.
